ABOUT US

I'm Nicky Christofi and i'm an Ofsted Registered Childminder.  We have lovely space for your children to play, learn and grow with regular planned adult led activities along with animal feeding  and care and lots of outdoor fun and activities and exploring through play

I work alongside, Jerry Gray  and Stephanie Simmons who are assistants here and we all care for and look after all the children and build good relationships with them and their families.   We provide lots of adult led activities and opportunities in a safe environment for the children to play, learn and grow.  The three staff here all help to deliver the EYFS and we learn through play and activities making them fun and lots of exploring.   We do have some structure to our days which incorporates lots of adult led activities including messy play tuff tray activities, arts and crafts, storytimes, songs and nursery rhymes sessions, music and dress up fuzzy felt, paint, sensory boxes, magic boxes, foam letters, exercise mats and games, puzzles, with snack times and plenty of outdoor time.  We feed the animals daily here that we have on site which are alpacas & chickens and the children love to collect the eggs and nature walks and learn about the countryside that surrounds us.

We are Covid safe and have very large outdoor spaces and swing and slides, climbing cube, tyres to play,  rockers, walkers, seasaw and a fairy garden and we go on lots of nature walks and games and do lots of planting.  We have a mud and sand areas, we love to get dirty and to messy.  We also do have Shetland ponies in some months of the year on the paddocks.  We also go on nature trails quite often, walks around the village, trips to the local parks, playgroups, Tattershall farm park, and provide home cooked food hot and cold meals as requested for the children.

We all hold enhanced DBS checks and the relevant first aid training, childminding cache certificates, Level 3 in childcare and Level 2 food health & hygiene along with safeguarding training.

All allergies are catered for and personal requirements.  We provide daily diaries and trackers and provide information to the parents and work with the local nurseries sharing information with cross over care. We have cots and prams and areas for sleeping.

We do drop offs and pick ups from Woodhall Wizards Nursery and at St Andrew’s School, St Mary's School & St Hughs School in the local village.  We have worked within St Andrews and St Hughs schools.

Lincolnshire is a great place to bring up children in the countryside.

My philosophy is that every child is treated as my own.  We genuinely care about the progress and welfare of each child and strive to provide the best possible environment for them to achieve and thrive and we follow the EYFS guidelines to do this.  We provide daily diaries and trackers for each child.

It is very difficult for any parent leaving their child, especially their first one and we try to make the transition as smooth as possible providing lots of photos for piece of mind and to you of the different activities your child is involved in throughout the day, along with their sleeping and eating and sending pictures to you of them to you via WhatsApp or messenger so that we have up-to-date contact with the parents all day.

We are friendly, kind and very approachable and flexible people.   We are happy to discuss any aspect of your child's care and always provide day to day updates, through conversation and the daily diaries and trackers.  We can cover shift patterns and rotas provided please enquire within.

We do have some structure to our day in that we have a freeplay period in the morning when everyone is arriving at different times and settling in time.  We may have a led activity inside or out and the children get to freeplay also during the day.  We have snack time and then also another adult led activity ie. Cooking, Chalking, painting, clay, beads, bumchems, fuzzy felt, stickle bricks building as well as circle time and storytime.

We do try to tailor the day to each chid that comes to us incorporating their interests and have appropriate rest time for babies and after school children.  We have a travel cot for sleeping or prams should your toddler need a nap or they need to snuggle.

Childminders are required to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which allows us to assess your child's development through observations and then plan activities for the next stage based on their ability and likes & dislikes.  After-school children will get home cooked food and do a lot of outdoor games, board games and technology based activities.

House Rules

I do expect all the children to be respectful to others and be polite with manners and teach them manners in line with the School.  I do require that all children do not use bad language when in my house and learn to share and respect other children and their toys and also to respect my own furniture.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I am pretty flexible if you require hours or days outside the normal hours shift work and weekdays.

When your child is sick if you have a place booked you are still required to pay for it.  All pre-agreed booked days are charged.    I need at least a month notice of your holidays otherwise you are charged full fee .  You are not charged for my holidays which are informed well in advance .

We do accept all types of childcare vouchers here.
